Theory Corporate Headquarters and Showrooms

Theory, a renowned global fashion brand, anchors Manhattan’s Meatpacking District with a new 5-story 60,000 sf headquarters at a highly visible corner location. The design communicates a unified branding statement inspired by local materials, industry and nightlife, and is expressed in the palette of raw and luxe materials used throughout the building: cast concrete, polished stainless steel, rough-sawn hickory, honed slate, lucite.
This interior design integrates multiple aspects of the business and consolidates the company on one site. The flagship store engages the street at the ground level. The company’s showrooms, workrooms and offices occupy and animate the floors above. These office floors assert a polished and distinct brand while balancing a need for privacy with openness.
A four-story central staircase carries natural light and activity through the core of the building, connecting the different departments. This stair integrates materials utilized throughout the building to create an elegant, cohesive expression.
