Vintry Fine Wines

New York, NY

Anchoring the new Goldman Sachs in Lower Manhattan, Vintry Fine Wines established a new typology of wine store inspired by the parallel rows and rolling contours of a hilly vineyard. Utilizing a direct supply service and focusing on select product offerings and expert service, Vintry will have a smaller than typical storage-to-display ratio. This enabled the design’s curvilinear forms and generously spaced bottles for a visually uncluttered shelving display, in addition to sufficient floor space circulation for tasting events and collection consultation services. Technology is utilized, such as customer touch pads, instant bottle chiller, and wine dispenser, to help navigate product selections and build individual collections. All bright white materials offset the curved steel and leather wine display shelving system. Materiality was selected and utilized to age gracefully as fine wines do. Using computer aided technologies the display shelving system was designed with divergent curves such that the bottles angle of repose will gradually rise and fall to accommodate different wine and bottle types with dramatic visual effect.
