Walter Gladwin Recreation Center
Marvel and Silman are working with NYCDDC to design a new recreation center in Walter Gladwin Park on behalf of the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation. The new facility will provide space for inclusive and universally accessible fitness amenities and programming for all ages for the underserved community of Tremont in the Bronx.
Our immediate goal for the Studio is to
successfully complete the design, permitting,
and eventual construction of this highly
anticipated mass timber recreation center.

a public project, we cannot specify a single
mass timber manufacturer so the technical
assistance will be crucial.

public projects, assisting the city in setting a
standard for developing beautiful, low-carbon
