A successful weeklong trip by a six person video recording crew from San Francisco, CA documented the ongoing efforts of ResilientPowerPuertoRico to install solar panels and batteries on community centers throughout the island. The brutal non stop schedule was coordinated and led by Daniela Lloveras, who set up dozens of interviews, road trips, food and cultural entertainment for our guests, who arrived Tuesday April 3 and left on Wednesday April 11.
Filming locations included Marvel offices and model shop in Condado, community centers in deeply affected informal settlements in San Juan of Playita, Caño Martín Peña, and La Perla, out on the island recording an installation in the municipality of Salinas, in the elevated tropical garden at Popular Center, and in the streets of Viejo San Juan.
Dozens of people were interviewed and recorded, from kids playing in the streets, to the RPPR co-workers, to community and civic leaders, planners, architects, electrical engineers, and the installation crews doing work force training. The film crew stayed in an Airbnb in Viejo San Juan, and enjoyed evenings exploring the local bars, dance halls and restaurants: working in Puerto Rico is always balanced with the tropical night life.
