Marvel Architects is a dynamic, award-winning 90-person firm with offices in New York City and San Juan. We seek a Junior Interior Architect/Designer to work in our New York office. Our approach integrates Interior Design, Architecture and Planning at the earliest phases. Marvel has a portfolio of new construction and renovation projects that bridge private spaces and the public realms. Projects include multi-family and luxury housing, theaters, schools, and large-scale public spaces in and beyond New York City. Marvel has a creative and collaborative studio environment. Qualified applicants are talented Interior/Architect Designers capable of producing unique concepts and communicating those designs through working drawings and renderings. The applicant must possess a collaborative attitude, and be a creative thinker with a solid understanding of interior design standards and practices who brings both creativity and organization to the position. Responsibilities include: space planning, design of interior schemes by CAD drafting and/or 3D models, develop client presentations, product research, develop FF&E packages, prepare construction documentation, and develop finish and material selections/boards.
Applicants should be knowledgeable of contemporary trends, pricing, and sources of furniture, finishes and fixtures. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design and must have strong organization, team building, and management skills. The candidate will be required to work with architects and designers through all project phases on a wide-array of project types, sizes and complexities, and this is why flexibility is a must.
Ability to work with the following programs is imperative; AutoCAD, Rhino, VRAY, Adobe CS, MS Office. We encourage the use of other tools such as Revit, and of course, hand drafting, sketch renderings, and physical model making.
