Mill Pond Park
Mill Pond Park is a 15-acre riverfront site on the Harlem River, formerly occupied by the Bronx Terminal Market. This waterfront park is one of several replacement parks and recreational facilities within the Yankee Stadium Redevelopment Program.

The design for the new park provides for numerous active and passive activities in formal and informal settings. A sinuous red ribbon creates a walking path to connect these activities and provides access to the river via ferries, the city bicycle network, pedestrian walkways, and kayaks. ©Josh Simpson

Site section
The scope of Mill Pond Park reflects the city’s commitment to provide replacement tennis courts, parkland acres and recreational facilities for the community. Tennis courts are open-air in the summer and covered in winter. The Power House is a National Register eligible structure that is adapted for reuse as the future Bronx Children’s Museum.
The beach is a sandy area immediately adjacent to the water which creates an ideal location for recreation, educational programs on river ecology and marine biology, and safe water access. ©Josh Simpson
